Into the Unknown! Part One - Companies and Set-Up - IHMN AAR

So we're finally getting around to writing up the Lost World game we had a couple of weeks ago! My son took on the role of some Lost World Beasties while I played part of Lord Blackwood's Expedition as they enter the Lost World for the first time!

Background to Lord Blackwood's Expedition

Lord Blackwood and his river expedition into the depths of the Congo have discovered, after some weeks of travel, a hitherto unknown range of  high and treacherous mountains. The river they had been following, until recently slow and sluggish, had become increasingly narrow and fast-running until it entered a vast cavern at the foot of this mountain range.

After some days exploring the surrounding area, it had become clear the mountain range was impassable by foot. The river, however, despite its flowing underground, seemed to offer a chance of continuing with the expedition, flowing as it did from the cavern into a natural tunnel, wide enough to travel along in relative safety, despite the current...as long as it did not narrow any further or drop deeper underground. As long as this was the case, the river, it was surmised, must soon take them to the other side of this treacherous range of mountains.

Lord Blackwood made the decision to take the river and continue on with the expedition. He'd be damned if he was going to give up now.

After two days of anxious travel along the underground river, the party emerged into what appears to be a vast valley surrounded by towering cliffs many hundreds of feet high. The expedition sets up camp next to the river while Lord Blackwood takes a party of men to explore the surrounding jungle...

You can get the PDF of my Complete Lost World for In Her Majesty's Name on Dropbox or Google Drive.

All miniatures were painted by the inimitable Matt Slade! The scenery is a mix of aquarium stuff and other bits I've found on Amazon.
